On behalf of Ms. Faith Marcello, Chairperson, and School Committee Members, Mrs. Joan Frank, Mrs. Shirley Lundberg, Mrs. Kathleen Russo, and Ms. Jocelyn Sharp, it is my pleasure to thank all of the members of the Northborough community for their continued support for our students. This support and dedication by the Town Officials, parents, citizens, and teachers all contribute to the excellence that our public schools are known for throughout the state.

Areas that are being addressed this year are space needs, technology, inclusion, and curriculum. The school district is going through the same growth problems as many other communities in Central Massachusetts are experiencing. The classroom ratios in our schools are high and space is non-existent. Due to the quick action of the Town in acquiring the former Zeh School building, our housing problems will start to be addressed next year.

Our school district has made great strides in the area of technology. The Technology Plan that was submitted to the Department of Education lays out our technology needs for the future. The commitment to technology for our students in their preparation for future endeavors must be watched carefully. This Technology Plan needs to be revisited annually and adjusted to meet the changing world of technology as well as the needs of our students.

The district has made a strong commitment in the area of inclusion. The staff has begun the process of additional training to give them the tools to address the many facets of inclusion. Everyone from the building principals, parents, teachers, and students own the success of inclusion. Working together, inclusion is becoming a reality.

The Core Values, Mission Statement, and Strategic Plan are always foremost in the day-to-day operation of our schools. These Values, Statement, and Plan will always be our top priority.

In conclusion, it is my honor and privilege to be submitting my first town report as your superintendent. The Northborough School District is very highly regarded and provides an excellent education for our students. This excellence will only improve as we move forward in our plans for the future.
